Overview

We are situated between Haymarket and the old town. Within 1/2 a mile of Prices street and the centre of the city with all it attractions. Easy to find less than a mile from Waverly train station. We know you will enjoy your stay with us. Our relaxed restaurant will give you a meal in comfort with an informal feel to it. Just what you need after a day out exploring.

When you choose to stay here you are totally surrounded by things to see and so. Firstly just 3 minutes walk North-West of us is Usher Hall on Lothian Road. A comfortable night sitting in an auditorium enjoying a comedy show or even classical rendition can be had here. Secondly also worth a mention the EICC at 150 Morrison Street is just 5 minutes away strait down the road. Lastly of course the jewel in the crown Edinburgh Castle on Castlehill is just 10 minutes walk from us.

Guest Reviews of Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre

Louise‘s Rating: 2.3/5
Louise travelling as: Young couple

Overall: Won't be going back there

Bad Stuff: I was generally unimpressed by the hotel room. It was cold, the bathroom was something that you'd expect from a 1960's B&B. All round, not very impressed at all. Would have been better off at a Travelodge.

Good Stuff: I think the bar staff we really great - very knowledgable. Downstairs the decor was fresh and tasteful.

Overall: We really had a lovely time during our stay at the Point hotel. The hotel is a walking distance from the town centre, the train station and the castle. There is a lot of pubs and restaurants nearby, which is good for choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful.Apart from being woken up at 5am by a false fire alarm, we had lovely time and will stay there again in future.

Bad Stuff: The bath tapes were very difficult to close.

Good Stuff: We really liked the bed. It was very comfortable. Our room was very big and airy. We also had a lovely view of the castle from our room.

Bad Stuff: Not so much really, although if pushed I could not dial up for computer on phone line with a decent speed for synchronising laptop, and web link was not helpful for me and expensive

Good Stuff: Clean lines, comfy bed, room layout
